Upon visiting Seoul, a big city and reminiscing about my hometown Chicago, I have decided to compare the differences between these two big cities. I will not talk about how they are the same because that is pretty obvious but I will talk about how they are so different. For one, Chicago seems to slow down at night whereas Seoul is like Vegas and never sleeps. Unlike in Chicago the people of Seoul are very polite and respectful to one another even though they do not know each other.
On the lunch hour you will see large lines of senior citizens waiting for their free lunch. Even though traffic is crazy the people are polite and let each other into the lanes without any hesitation. You will not hear beeping or cussing. It is scary to ride any type of transportation because it seems to be chaotic and moves very fast.
The streets are very clean and you will not find a trash can in sight. Even the subway floors look like the floor was just mopped. People are expected to take their own trash home and they do. The public places such as bathrooms and streets are impeccable. In Seoul people are full of IRREA ( integrity, respect, responsibility, effort and positive attitude.)
When visiting Seoul tower a friend left her bag in the observation deck. Hours later and possibly hundreds of tourists later to get back to that spot and the bag was still there in its same spot. This is proof that the people here are amazing! I would highly recommend visiting this city. It is a cultural shock but in a positive way!
